Photo booth project

Just took the day off unit work to work on an art project with a friend. The idea for this project is that it is a travelling photobooth which is used to take pictures of people with different screens behind them depicting different backgrounds and props. Wherever the booth is set up to take pictures the real background setting for the booth is drawn/painted onto a piece of clear plastic stretched over the frame. The booth collects a record of the places it has visited allowing people to relive every place that the booth has been set up.
Spent the day gathering the materials and working out how to construcyt the booth, will take another day off to bring the booth to a publick place and test.

Superblock too high think it is necessary to find a way to make it smaller now that i am making a structural model of the whole block.

blockheight%2001.jpg

blockheight%2002.jpg

Plan of hexagonal mesh which makes front surface of superblock.

The blue is the new hexagon mesh. The red arcs are the guides that the base of each row of hexagons follows to create a curved final surface. The black rectangle is the site outline. blog%20hex%20aggregated.jpg

The geometric technique used to aggregate the hexagon plan (wish i could script this)

The process for drawing the hexagon mesh is important because the variables of this process affect the outcome of the whole block. The guide circles define the size of the hexagon. The red arcs define the curvature of the hexagon mesh. blog%20hex%20ag%20method.jpg

This photograph shows the maximum height that the superblock should be and how high it is at the moment.

The height of the superblock will be decreased by having rows of cones stretched horizontally to cover the entire site. This is because each cone rows includes a is 6metres high step while the width of the cones can be changed.

Pictures of models taken in model studio, unfortunately not taken with a professional camera so most of the hundred pictures i took arent as good as these which arent even that good. So gonna have another sesh with a professional camera...

paper%20models.jpg
This model shows that the block has a danger of looking a bit "star trek" so gonna have to do something about that cos this superblock aint about being retro.

Simplest structural model of the superblock showing an arch like structure shaped to the outline of the site. This paper represents the hexagonal mesh that is the structure as a simple curved plane.
